The "Take-Home" Prayer

Dear God, I praise You and thank You for the gift of Your life.  I acknowledge that I often live life without You, trying to share and serve sometimes to maintain control, sometimes to look good in the eyes of others. These ways are familiar and seem so benign.  Help me to turn from those ways of living, and turn to You, the Source of real Life, that I can fully share Your life. Thank You that You forgive me, help me to know and trust and live into Your forgiveness.  I choose now to open myself to You, to listen in Your presence, seeking to embody Your gift of abundant and eternal life this day, and to know how I can be Your gift to others (take some time to be silent, receiving God’s love and listening for God’s word to you -15 minutes or so).  I choose to continually receive Your presence and love today, that I can be filled to overflowing and live sharing and serving fully as Your gift for others.  I thank You.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
