The "Take-Home" Prayer
Dear
God, I praise You and thank You for Your presence, love, and life. I confess I struggle to love as You have made
me and called me to love. I sometimes
love out of my own finite resources, and I fall short, get impatient, feel
afraid, and more. I turn to You, seeking Your help. Help me to hear/receive (shema) You, that I
may know myself as your beloved son/daughter, and that I would have your
overflowing love to share. I take time
now to open myself to whatever you have for me (spend some time in silence,
seeking to be in God’s presence and to receive God’s love and whatever else God
has for you). Thank you God for first
loving me, help me grow in my love for you, for others, and for who I am as
your beloved child. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
