The "Take-Home" Prayer
Dear
God, I praise You and thank You. Please
help me to choose You, to discover that I belong to You, that You have formed
me for Your good pleasure and purpose. I
seek Your Kingdom, this Way of Jesus, so that You can lead me daily to deeper
and wider dimensions of Your new life, that I may share it with others. Help me to seek You first, so that with and
in You I can live as part of the Body of Christ, making Your love flesh in the
lives of others. I thank You for ways I
have experienced You in the past day (take some time to list those ways). And now I seek to open myself to You and to
listen in Your presence, seeking to know who I am in You and how I can be Your
gift, Your love in action, for others (take some time to be silent, listening
for thoughts and ideas that may come - - 15 minutes or so). I love You, and thank You for first loving
me. I choose to enact Your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
