The "Take-Home" Prayer
Dear
God, I praise You and thank You. Please
help me to choose You, that I will live awake to Your healing and transforming
love. I confess that the ways I live and
others around me live leave me at times burned out, and at other times
overwhelmed. In those times I sometimes
choose to protect myself, to hide, to numb, to check out, to flee, and to
fight. Please forgive these ways that
live without You. Today I say “No” to
those ways, and I seek Your Kingdom, this Way of Jesus, so that I will be
immersed in Your Holy Spirit, filled with Your love, living more fully the
truth of who I am in You. In this moment
I open myself to You and to listen in Your presence, seeking to know who I am
in You and how I can be Your gift and blessing to others (take some time to be
silent, open to the wonder of God’s love for You revealed in the gift of Jesus,
listening to ways God may be leading You in this day). I thank You.
I love you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
